Brian 'Huts' Hutsebout is an Assistant Professor of Art at Saint Mary's College in Notre Dame, Indiana where he teaches courses in sculpture and graphic design. Brian received his B.F.A. in Graphic Design from Georgia Southern University and completed his M.F.A in Applied Craft and Design from the Pacific Northwest College of Art. He has shown in galleries throughout the United States and in Bayeux, France. He was awarded an artist residency at Leland Ironworks and has shown at Disjecta Contemporary Art Center in Portland, OR as a part of the GLEAN residency. Brian currently has work on display in the Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition at Indiana University East and the Yokna Sculpture Trail in Oxford, MS. His most recent work poses a physicality to abstract concepts like memory, ancestry, and trauma by considering his own identity and perceptions through sculpture, installation, and performance art.
